I teach in a community college. My classes are regorous. My students are not. I would say that about 6 out of 10 students do not complete all of their homework and even more do not study beyond the homework assigned. A college education is not as good because our students expect to be spoonfed. Granted, many are also working at least part time to pay for their education. This really cuts into study time. I don't know. If tuition was lower so students didn't have to work, would they put that extra time into their studies?

I am a 33 year old navy veteran, currently attending GMU. It cost me 1100 dollars a class at in-state tuition rates, and I do not feel I am getting my monies worth at all. No guarantee of future employment, and loads of debt to boot. Am considering quitting and doing something else before the loans get to be insane.
